A Mother's Hand giving Cancer the Middle Finger

One of the books my daughter and I love is "My Mommy's hands" notably because of the phrase "your hand is as warm as a biscuit!" of which became an instant favorite endearment quote between her and me.

Now what if these hands loses a finger? Will they still be as warm as a biscuit?

A couple of months ago, I noticed a faint brown line across my right middle fingernail. Nothing to be concerned about I thought. "I'm sure it will go away..."

No it did not.

Great Day to wear Yellow

Who would have thought that my penchant for wanting to wear yellow this Sunday was actually a VERY good idea! Considering I haven't showered, Yellow seemed to be the perfect choice in making me look a bit "fresh" and lively! - believe it or not, color does change moods - very helpful on a gloomy, stormy day! Then we went to Plaza Fiesta and as soon as I walked into the shopping center, my yellow shirt immediately took on a more dramatic role...

Food Art - Reason I play with my food

Call me weird but in my house it's Ok to play with your food especially mine! As long of course it's in the name of art! As you can see, I have a very creative mind obviously. I haven't played with my food for a long while but today, inspiration struck me... What do you think of that image above?

Or of this "Food Art" we created last time. Did I mention we play with our food in this house?

Even the Universe Love Me!

Do you see what I see? This is not a graphic art. Nor a camera trick. Not photoshopped either. Can you guess what it is? What about if I just tell you, that this is actually a droplet of water that fell onto my weighing scale. I was as amazed seeing it. I was feeling a little blue that day and as I sat to take a pee pee (I know TMI there - but only way to tell the story), I happen to glance at this... just like it is on the picture above.

What a mysterious yet creative way of  letting me know I'm loved...

Day and Night - Why do we always want to be someone we're not?

If there was one thing I found endearing about being able to watch the advanced screening of Toy Story 3 (amidst the mix reviews it received afterwards), is that chance to see the featurette movie Day and Night. To me, it profoundly captured the poignant representation of how two individuals can be so different and unique in their own ways and yet does not appreciate what they have. Rather that they wanted to be that other person they thought has it better than themselves.

Betty Crocker's Suddenly Salad Greek Review and Giveaway

Technical Update: If you don't see your comments showing up on this post, please don't be alarmed. Blogger is having issues publishing comments since Monday, 7/5/10. I'm hoping the issue gets resolved soon.

We celebrated July 4th at the water park this year. A first for us as a family. We usually spend it with friends each year but this small change was actually fun! Now the only downside of being in a water park is that food and drinks are ridiculously expensive! And you can't bring your own food either. BUT that didn't stop us from bringing our own food not when I have a new recipe I wanted to try with flavor I like!

Letter From A Child - A Fourth of July Story

When a child does something unexpected and so brilliantly profound beyond their years, it stays with you forever...

Today we spent the day unbound by schedule or activity. It was a good day to be just a family having fun in town. We walked into ON for a leisurely window shopping. As I prowl the aisles, my child urgently proclaimed that she was heading the opposite direction but close enough where I can see her and that she really NEEDED to be there! So, what could be so important that she needed to head there immediately???

This is what she saw:

Spending 2 days at Build A Bear Workshop Bearquarters for the company's 1st Brand Building Workshop in St. Louis, Missouri with 24 other savvy, cool moms was not only inspirational but also exceptionally informative! And being one of two moms who came all the way from North Carolina to learn alongside a convergence of  moms from the Midwest was an opportunity beyond sheer luck! It was a blessing and truly enriching.
