Ultimate Blog Party - Zen diversity

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

"Kumusta Ultimate Blog Party Peeps! Tuloy kayo sa munting bahay namin (Welcome to our humble little house)" - this is our customary greeting in the Philippines to visitors coming to visit us in our home, which is where I was born and raised.

This is my 1st Ultimate Blog Party and I'm having the 1st-timer party jitters! Well, I hope you'll enjoy your visit in my little spot in the w.w.w. nonetheless. So please take off your shoes, come in, stay a while and let's chat over green tea or Coffee perhaps?

Now in my attempt to be a good host, I'll right away spare you the pain of trying to pronounce my name. Yep, no one can pronounce my name or spell it properly. How odd! But here is an easy way to. It's like Merry Christmas without the "mas". Simple right? Sound it out : "Maricris" and you've just said my name correctly. That wasn't difficult was it? :) Now please don't forget to introduce yourself via comments before you leave, okidoki?!

So here's a little more about me. I'm Filipina. I love to travel. Some of the countries I've visited include Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bahrain and Kuwait, where I experienced and was lucky to survive the 2nd war initiated by Iraq. Let's just say, I have my own share of Gulliver's Travels to tell that is not limited to killer quakes and military coups. And I speak 4 languages!

But my life is not as colorful. I have to deal with immigration woes, recession heartbreaks and learning how to pump gas! And yes, I'm a working mom too. I have a very smart and sassy daughter who just turned 6 this month (we're actually having her party tomorrow!) and married to a geek 6'4 gentle giant who is a pain in the neck at times! Ya know, I'm only 5'3.

As you can see, we're a very diverse family. This was taken during this year's Chinese New Year Festival celebration of the Martial Arts school where hubby got certified as a Tai Chi Sifu (Teacher) last year and daughter takes Shaolin Kung Fu classes. As it is, my blog is as diverse as I'm.

Gosh, did I talk a lot! Here have some Black Bean and Salsa Burrito while I list my Top Prize picks!
  • Toshiba Satellite L505D-ES5025 - The Grand Prize! *crossing fingers and toes* I can wish can I not? - desperately need a new laptop.
  • US40- 3 day 2 night stay from Holiday Inn Main Gate East in Kissimmee, FL
  • US71- $50 Bear Bucks Card to Build Bear Workshop
  • US6 - The Double Stacked A Lot Of Love.
  • US23 - $25 Target Card
I hope you enjoyed our little chatter. Do swing by 5 Minutes for Mom and meet more fabulous moms like you and me! Thanks for stopping by. See you again soon...

P.S. Did I mention I make jewelries too? Yes I do! Check Golden Flower creations.

    16. Thank you for stopping by my blog! Yes, my header picture is from where I grew up, in the eastern part of Washington state. Ironically, in the process of revamping my blog, I had just removed the picture when I saw your comment! I need to figure out a way to somehow stick that picture back in my blog. :-/
