The Journey Begins...

Six days has gone by...our journey has begun...we're taking each day with a stride. My daughter is oblivious to what's going on. In my heart, I'm glad that she is...During these times, I was in an emotional roller coaster trying to be strong for my family especially with this new threat that I might actually, either lose my job or my hours will get cut in half. Who said recession is not at hand? These politicians and analysts are either plain stupids, plain liars or simply conspiring with the government to hide the truth! Either way, the effect of the unstable economy and what these people are NOT saying is just beyond horrific and we, the small, poor people of the country are the ones suffering the worst impact of these idiosyncracies. God have mercy on us! and since I can't vote yet, please vote for the right person to lead this country!

Nonetheless, I haven't forgotten any of you and your kind words during these times... If you didn't hear from me for a few days or haven't dropped in your blog for a visit, it was unintentional and I'm sure you have a bit of an inkling as to why. I wasn't hiding in my cocoon, I was just out there in that "roller coaster of life" crying my way out. But we're coping...As of now, frugality is my family's bestest of friends. And being that, it meant, we have to give up a lot of things that we never thought we would. Our sacrificial lamb is definitely meaty with all the things we fed it:

No more eating out or ordering in. Our planned vacation is no longer. Cable TV- bye-bye! AC replaced with Fan (our house gets really hot but we'll live). No more chiropractic visits for us and we don't go out as much anymore to save gas money... all the little luxuries we have in life are gone...so this is our life right now...not a very happy one but at least we still have each other...

A touching moment: I came to work this monday to find this white envelope emblazoned with my hubby's name and mine sitting on my desk. I thought it was from one of the students leaving me a note just to say he was done with the task my husband asked him for. So I opened the envelope and found a gift card instead! No one will tell me who it was from. All they told me was that it was from a mystery Santa! I just sat in my office crying...

I know that all of us suffer to a certain degree each day of our lives, some have it bad like us, or some have it easier. I was moved by a lot of people who offered prayers and I do believe in the power of prayer. If you were given the chance to be a prayer warrior today, will you take the challenge?

Be a prayer warrior today and help pray for someone in need like me. Who knows, you might even end up getting my prayer requests...

  10. You'll get through it...and I agree wholeheartedly about the direction our country is moving in. Things have to change...they just HAVE to. How nice that you work with compassionate people who love you enough to leave you a gift to help you get through a tough time. On a lighter note, here's the link for the fall swap people have been talking about...

  11. Hello, made my way here by Jenn Peacock's page. I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through! It's better that your daughter is oblivious to all this, it's better for her and yourself! You'll make it through, in the meantime just do anything you can to keep your mind off it. Playing with your daughter, coloring, little things that don't cost money & it will seem easier. It's obvious thoughts from all around the world with you!

  12. Oh, hon....this really, really stinks! I'm saying lots of prayers! I'm glad that the office Santa is keeping an eye on you. I wish there was more I could do. I WILL be voting for the person I think is best for the job in November, and will keep you in mind as I do so. Cling to the Lord....He will see you through!!

  15. So thoughtful and kind of the one who left the gift card. God answers prayers in a discreet way that sometimes we don't even realize it's an answered prayer. You'll cope up with Him...

  19. It sounds like your getting things in order and under control. Of course this is me looking in through your post. I'm sure it's chaotic and draining on the inside. Life can still be wonderful without the luxeries we take for granted. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. God bless.

  20. You are in our prayers Girl. We feel your pain, believe us. I am working too but money is still tight. We haven't gone eating out for a while now or if we want to, we use a coupon for buy one get one dinner. I know, we are coupon junkies.

    Just hang in there.
