Photography: When Winter Unleash its Wrath On Nature The Outcome Is A Beautiful Death

It's halfway through March and Winter seemingly have left for good since the onset of February. The unusually warm weather gave way to a premature Spring. Trees have bloomed. Some sprouted new leaf. Some still budding. My allergies started acting. Achoo!  It's undeniably Spring! We were beyond happy to imbibe ourselves with the comfort of warmer weather and embrace the beauty, including the unpleasant effects of Spring. But then Winter decided it's not done and made a striking comeback! So unexpected and unforgiving but for all its oddity, the white specks that enveloped the trees, its blooms, and flower-filled grounds, which speaks of death, painted a scene - a scene of a very beautiful death...

Photography: Yellow and White Daffodils

Flower Power. Nothing does a better job proclaiming the arrival of Spring than the glorious beauty of flowers such as these Daffodils which started popping out all over my front and backyard and blooming instantaneously the next day!

Photography: The Gift of Spring

Trees and plants are all starting to bloom. My allergies entirely don't agree but there's no denying the beauty that comes with the arrival of the season of new life - Spring. As the flowers bloom, birds make their way back as well and perhaps we'll see offsprings hatching from nearby nests in no time soon.

Photo of the Day: Sunset Delights

It is a treat to watch the Sunset during this season. Dramatic colors vividly paint the sky with vibrant reds, orange, yellow and sometimes purple. It's almost unreal but it's breathtaking to witness sunsets like the one I captured yesterday.

Photo of the Day: Ripples, Freezing Rain and Icicles

The weather have been nasty today with  freezing rain and freezing cold. Icicles formed on the bare tree branches and mesmerizing ripples on the water as the pellets of rain hit the little puddles on my deck. A sight that I can't dare miss take a picture of.

Photo of the Day: Amazing Sunset Sky

The setting sun created a magnificent canvas of wonderful colors in the sky yesterday. One simply can't help admire and feel exhilarated with awe at its glorious appearance. Inspiring is the one word that came to mind.  May your day today be as glorious!

Fall Series: The Evolution of a Fall Leaf

It's always fascinating to watch the leaves change colors on the onset of Fall but more so, seeing the stages of how these changes takes place. This is where it gets very interesting. I managed to photograph the different color stages of how these changes occur from one particular tree in my backyard. And it is ah-mazing to discover! Watch the video and see what I mean.

Watch the video directly in our channel : The Evolution of a Fall Leaf

Personal note: I can see this as a great show and tell material for teachers wanting to show how a leaf change color during Fall. If you are an educator, please feel free to use this material for your teaching use. If you require photos, I can send you the copy free of charge. Simply drop us an email with Fall photos on subject line.

How My Daughter Made Me Roll a Huge Snowball Boulder

I finally got my wish. It snowed in Charlotte! Woot! Woot! And good for snowball-making-kind-of-snow too! It's been ages since we got this much. Obviously, this snow-starved gal was beyond ecstatic! Though its arrival totally un-glamorized the heck out of me.

Wiseman's View One of High Country NC's Best Kept Secrets

Hawksbill Mountain on the left

Ever heard of the cliche' "you don't have to go too far to discover great tourist spots in your own backyard?" Or you know, to that effect? Well, I should tell you that discovering Wiseman's View recently certainly falls into this category. Perhaps one of few remaining nature parks left untouched by modern development and considerably best kept secrets of the high country in the Carolinas.
