Kung Fu Panda 3: A light-hearted Movie Infused with All the Feels

One thing about films, any films, is that they can be plagued by this uncanny phenomenon where subsequent sequels can and will pale in comparison to the original movie - sometimes miserably. But there are rare cases where some really great ones will dodge this formidable "curse" and come out victorious! Kung Fu Panda 3 managed to snag a spot in the ranks of the unbeatable list. And one, well-deserved.

Kung Fu Panda 3 successfully maneuvered itself away from the stereotypical storyline that 1 and 2 seem to possess, though without sacrificing the humor and fun factors which had always been an appealing quality of the movie. However, for its 3rd offering, be prepared for Kung Fu Panda 3 to give you an emotional tug at your heartstrings. Plus the inevitable endless pokes to your tickle spots and few surprises along the way including new lovable characters that are sure to become a fan favorite.

You'll also see a different, less serious side to each of the original characters like you've never witnessed before. Characteristics that apparently connected to every moviegoer present at the preview who applauded it with laughter and giggles.

However, the greatest surprise in this movie is the revelation of Po's long-lost father which will tie-in with the introduction of the new characters and a deeper look into Po's past. But that's just the tip of the dumpling. There's more to the wonton which I urge you to go find out! Simply put, this is a movie worth the watch. There's not a dull moment from start to finish. Guaranteed.

About the film:
Living large and loving life, Po (Jack Black) realizes that he has a lot to learn if he's going to fulfill the next challenge from his beloved instructor (Dustin Hoffman). After reuniting with his long-lost father (Bryan Cranston), Po must transition from student to teacher and train a group of fun-loving, clumsy pandas to become martial-arts fighters. Together, the kung-fu brethren unite to take on the evil Kai (J.K. Simmons), a supernatural warrior who becomes stronger with each battle. 

Red Carpet reception and Premier screening
Kung Fu Panda 3 kicked off with Red Carpet Special presented by Chase featuring interviews with Jack Black, Angelina Jolie Pitt, Kate Hudson, Bryan Cranston, J.K. Simmons, Dustin Hoffman and Lucy Liu from the Worldwide Premiere at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

Local screening and Red Carpet reception was also held in 70 theaters across the country including one in Charlotte where I was invited to participate in. It was held at AMC Concord Mills. For the Red Carpet reception, Concord Fire Departments' elite members were honored as part of the local Hometown Heroes recipients along with other remarkable individuals who have either touched the community or made a difference in the community.

Craft table was set up inside the theater for kids while they wait for the screening to commence. Likewise, treated every invited guests with a complimentary popcorn and drink. Dreamworks definitely know how to treat their guests right!

Movie for the entire family

The movie is set to release January 29, 2016.  It makes for a great family movie day/night option. The entire family will surely enjoy this one and won't disappoint. Come with a purpose to have fun and relax and you'll be in good company!

And if you're into Martial Arts and either a practitioner or fan of Tai Chi,  then the more you'll appreciate this movie. Without giving away any spoilers, let's just say, this movie will help you tap into your inner Chi as well.
