What's better than Recycle? REUSE!

UPDATE: Congratulations to our FINAL winner aarobertson number 32 via random.org. Thank you to all who participated. Check the current giveaway. YOU might be the next lucky winner!

The Proof is in the cup!

Odd as it may sound, reusing items that are condemned for recycling or worst, the trash, is actually not a bad idea! You're nothing but helping reduce your carbon print on the environment. How this can be done?Take it from me. I'll show you how.

Here are some uncommon ways:

1- To Go Cups - Some states do not recycle these materials especially the plastics. Instead of going trash-it-crazy, reuse them as regular household cups. Works best when you have young kids, even grown-up kids! Now, I shouldn't even bother explaining why it works best with kids. You're a parent? Then you know plain as day why.

Tip: {Talking by experience} They're dishwasher safe so you can wash them and reuse them countless times.
Other uses: Collect as many and you have enough to bring to picnics, road trips. Saves you money from buying disposable cups! The possibility is endless.

2-  To Go Food containers - If you get a lot of those black plastic containers with transparent covers from  restaurants, you're in luck! I love these ones, only because I can reuse them for storing leftovers in. They also come handy as travel containers or party-bring-some-food-home containers.

Tip: Just like the plastic cups, they're dishwasher-safe and are versatile containers. You can also use them in storing items other than food, like beads and whatnots to organize your stuffs.

There are more ways to reduce your carbon-print and be good to Mother Earth. You just have to take the initiative to initiate change. Start by reusing whatever is reusable and influence others to do the same thing!

  1. I clicked both links and took the pledge and I almost always reuse! We don't get many of the take out cups, but I bought one large bag of the plastic "disposable" cups, plates, and bowls for company/outside BBQ's and have used them many times--I run them through the dishwasher and store them away for next time. No need to buy new dishes every time!

I reuse a lot. Tip: A lot of plastic silverware will be okay in the dishwasher as well. We've been using the same batch of forks for parties for ages.
