Quality of A Baby Formula Is Not Measured by the Popularity of Its Name (with $30 GC giveaway)

I remember those days when my daughter was a baby and how being a new mother, I was thrown into the arena of confusion on the many baby formulas that seem to magically appear in my doorstep. I was saturated with all sorts of popular brands claiming to be the best and enticing me with free samples. Although I chose to breastfed my child, I will admit, I found myself turning to baby formula when "I have no more to give" and my baby needed more - I'm sure you catch my drift - and had to come up with something substantial to meet her demand. With this little challenge in my hand, I went to town and shopped for baby formulas. But here's a caveat, you wouldn't have seen me in the popular baby formula aisle. Why? Why not.

Popular Brand Name Don't Mean Higher Quality
As a smart consumer, I'm an avid reader of  a product's ingredients along with other pertinent information like "manufactured by and for". If you do this, you will see a pattern that will make you wiser in choosing the product that's worth every penny in your pocket. Let me spell the secret out for you: most of these products have the same nutritional value but sold for a much higher price compared to store brand versions. In the end, you are paying for the name of the brand not the worth of the product itself.

So, why opt for an expensive popular brand name when you can have a store brand version with the same nutritional value but at a much lower price?

"Perrigo Nutritionals, also known as Store Brand Formula (SBF), are as nutritionally complete as the national brands, but cost significantly less. They are sold under individual retailer brands, such as Walmart’s Parent’s Choice and Target’s Up & Up Store brand product. Moms can purchase store brand products for their baby without compromising nutrition or spending a bundle!
The FDA strictly regulates infant formula and how SBFs are nutritionally comparable to national brands like Enfamil and Similac. So essentially, the brand of formula you use is not unique, but of course your baby is unique.
To shine the spotlight on the most important part of the formula equation: your baby, Perrigo Nutritionals is launching a “Unique Baby” Photo Sweepstakes in which the winner will receive $5,000 AND a year supply of Store Brand Formula."
