A Superblogger is:
- Insomniac - they never sleep {or close to}. If you are a mom with a new baby, you may be a perfect candidate! Sleepless nights makes for a perfect time to write. Why not take advantage of it right?
- Write-a-holic - they live and breathe in front of their laptops and writing non-stop! Publishes 2 to 3 blog posts a day! And the only break they get is potty and pee breaks.
- Always Connected - on all social media sites imaginable. Twitter, facebook, foursquare, whrrl, you name it! They need to always BE THERE. "Raving fans" have ADHD. They have to keep up with the demand.
- Highly involved - in every possible contests, events and opportunities that's out there for the grabbing! Why not? Too many competition out there. They can't be outstaged.
- Always on the Go - present in almost every conferences in the calendar and networks like mad crazy! More exposure. More opportunities. More raving fans. More power to them!
- Highly competitive - they're always for the win. Why not? You better watch out! They want to rule the world! Yes, they can be selfish {sometimes}.
- Highly Attached - to their blogs. It becomes their life. They can't stop thinking about them even when they're out vacationing. Their laptops, PC's and Smartphones becomes their BFFs - they immediately go through separation anxieties even when they're just away from them for 5 mins.

Blogging Vs. Working
Interesting...most of the very committed and active bloggers who I know that fall under many of these points are *not* number 6 though. Those who are too competitive tend to burn out because we all need to support each other.
ReplyDeleteBut this is satire, right? :) I think if I met a blogger who met all the criteria I'd start crying for my mommy!
Hahaha! Well I can say one or two of them are me (okay so maybe one! LOL) But then their are a few I absolutely don't want to be! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the list but the only thing I'd have to disagree with is #6- Highly Competitive. While I've met goal oriented bloggers who I'd consider superbloggers, they have been generous, kind, and collaborative. While there may be some who might embody this trait, I can't say that everyone out there will claw their way to the top. Or at least I'd hope not! :)
ReplyDeleteWhile I don't get much sleep as it is, not sure I want to be a "super blogger" at least not as described as above. But I do love what I do so that's a start.
ReplyDeleteJessica and Leticia - I agree that there are those who doesn't embody traits on number 6, not meaning to sound sarcastic, but it does represent those extreme bloggers who are motivated by sheer thought of being on top. I've come across those.
ReplyDeleteSatire? There may be a hint of that =)
