12 Years. That's how long it took for me to finally experience, witness, admire and [forever] capture the beauty of Fall up in the mountains. A wait worth the wait. In one full day, nature revealed its grandeur and amazing wonders all but unexpectedly - yet wholeheartedly accepted. It made me walk in the clouds, yes, walk in the clouds and marveled on its panoramic views around me and below me.

Late But Not Too Late.
We managed to travel up the mountains when the trees at the highest elevation have already peaked and peaking fast farther down. It's late in October. 2 weeks before November. I was afraid that by the time we get there, all I'll see are tree skeletons naked of leaves and colors. But as luck would have it, the road up all the way to Grandfather Mountain was still bursting with colors! I would like to think that they waited for me. 12 years is a long wait after all.

Pictures worth a thousand words
All the photos taken on the road, I photographed inside our moving car. It was a feat trying not to get carsick and steadying myself at every twist and turn on the road. But you should know, it was all worth it! My effort paid off when one of my photos got featured on TV and very grateful for it.
As expected, this adventure is now checked-off my bucket list! I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I have seeing it in person.
I'm totally caught by surprise seeing the awesome Brad Panovich featuring my fall photo from Sunday on TV tonight. I...
