You probably didn't know museums have Free Admission days. Well, they do. Now you know. And as I know you already know, FREE is always good when you have more than one kid to entertain the whole Summer or on any given time. Museums are also a great place where the whole family can go to and do things together while saving you money at the same time. Now that's a No-Brainer!

Check these Museums in Charlotte with Free Admission Days or Always Free to get your Summer on the right track:

Mint Museum - Both locations offer free general admission every Wednesday from 5-9 pm. And Mom and Dads, don't feel left out. They have Wine Wednesdays for you. Admission also free. But you have to pay for your babysitter if you do decide to make it a date night.

Bechtler Museum - Various days of the year, the museum offers Family day where children are free and $8 for non-members. Also, children up to 10 years old, active-duty and retired military personnel, National Guard, Reserve and their families are free.

Schiele Museum of Natural History - If you're willing to do a little road trip to Gastonia, the museum offers free admissions every 2nd Tuesday of the month from 6 pm and every 4th Friday of the month from 3:30 pm. This is the only museum close enough to Charlotte with a Planetarium so I'd say it's worth the drive.

Wells Fargo History Museum - Always FREE. They're open from 9 am to 5pm Tuesday through Saturday with an option for a guided tour. Though you have to call to set that up. Otherwise, you can tour the museum at your leisure anytime.

McColl Center for Visual Art - This too is always free. It's great for the budding artist and art enthusiasts. They're open on Thursdays 5 pm - 9 pm and Friday through Saturday 12 pm - 5 pm. There's also an option for guided tour by appointment.

President James K. Polk Historic Site - A little touch of history about our 11th President won't hurt especially since it's always free to visit. I'm sure the kids won't mind. The museum is only open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am - 5 pm.

Matthews Heritage Museum - They offer free admission every 1st Saturday of the month and children up to 10 years old are likewise free. Guided tours are also available.
