New Poptropica Adventures for the Nintendo DS™ System by Ubisoft® - Review and Giveaway

Poptropica is one of my little gamer's all-time favorite online. Online, because it is the only place available to her to play it. Not on her DS. And because of this, most often than not, you'll catch her playing it like there's no tomorrow when her computer-time comes around. I can't blame her. She obviously loves the game! BUT that's about to change...

She's getting a sweet deal! A deal that made her squeal like a banshee (yes, she almost broke my eardrum) upon telling her that Ubisoft® was releasing the game for the Nintendo DS™ system and I'm getting a review copy out of the deal. It may have somehow felt like it was Christmas morning when I finally got the copy!

The little gamer went into action right away. Yes, right away was the perfect description. And let's just say I may have lost her in Poptropica islands quite a few times during the duration of several days.

Poptropica Adventures stepping beyond online is a great move. It was time that it did. I think Jeff Kinney made the right decision to step up the game and offer the fun and adventure of its growing creation in the world of gaming system. Now my little gamer can have her Poptropica time whenever and wherever. It is rated "E" (for everyone) which means it is safe and wholesome for any young gamer like mine!

The Game of Three Islands.
Three of their most popular Islands were chosen for the game and have given them a twist with exciting new challenges and storylines to keep gamers engaged and entertained.

And what's the 8 year old gamer have to say:

What do you like best about the game?
The added mazes, cool effects, and one island that was never in Poptropica called Museum Island where it holds all the collections you collected during your adventure.

If there was anything, what would you want added in the game?
I want more islands to explore. Three isn't enough. There is a lot online. About 20+  (I think).

What's your overall opinion of the game comparing it to the online game?
The ease of use and the level of difficulty. It is a lot harder online because you have a lot of islands to work on and there are a lot of buttons that I didn't even know existed. The DS game makes it easy to handle and enjoy the game.

In summary:
I think that since this is a VERY new game, it leaves a lot of room for improvement. It is a great first step towards bringing the online game to the world of gaming system and that is by itself already a great initial success. The best thing about it is that, it is a wholesome, challenging game that I would highly recommend to young gamers alike.

This game will make for a perfect gift this holiday for that little gamer of yours or a great combo partner for them young children who are getting their first Nintendo DS this Christmas!
