Night scene at Uptown Charlotte's Center City |
Type A Parent conference officially starts today and it's in my "backyard" this year! So thrilled that it is! It's close by which gives me the opportunity to go home and sleep in the comfort of my own bed at the end of the day - true translation: "It's saving me serious big bucks! Although being in Asheville right now doesn't sound so bad either as I think about uptown traffic especially in the morning... Gah! The dreaded morning and afternoon commute!
But, it's all cool. And one other cool thing about this year, is that, I've been included in the Mom Market and I'm pretty excited! I'll be able to sell some of my handmade jewelry creations of which portion of the sale will benefit the homeless children in Charlotte through Bright Blessings, a local non-profit organization that I loyally support for years now.
Through my "YOU BUY - YOU GIVE" campaign, I hope that you will help make a difference in the lives of these children and support small local artisans like me in the process as well. So, I invite you to come by and check out my table at the Mom Market on Sunday, June 24th in the Carolina Hall from 8:45 to 10:00 AM.
I'm also a volunteer again this year so you'll see plenty of me. But beware, I'll most probably be a gate keeper so you better make sure you have your conference ID handy or you're not getting in to those aww-some nightly parties happening at the conference!
Flashback
I can't wait to see who I'll finally meet for the first-time In Real Life this year. In the past year some of the wonderful ladies I met:
- Elisa Camahort-Page, COO and Co-Founder of Blogher - a vegetarian like my hubby and awfully sweet in person!
- Katja Presnal of Skimbaco Lifestyle - Whose accent is adorable as mine - ahem!
- Laura Spencer of Disney World - The fashion icon of bling and have tons of pixie dusts to give!
I hope to see you and meet YOU too!
New in Charlotte? Here are Ways to Have a Royal Good Time in North Carolina's Queen City covered by Skimbaco to get you started and get acquainted.
Type-A Parent Conference 2012 will be held June 22-24 at the Hilton Charlotte Center City
Personal Note: Special thanks to Kelby Carr and the wonderful staff of Type A Parent conference for the opportunity to be a volunteer again and for including me in the Mom Market this year! Guys, you rock!
It was so nice to meet you - and drive to Type-A with you from the airport! I really wish I was coming this year too. Thank you for linking! Enjoy the conference!
ReplyDeleteBummed that you can't make it. I will miss you at the conference. Not that I don't already :-(
DeleteIt as SO lovely meeting you in person after tweeting to one another for son long :)
ReplyDeleteI know. I can't believe it's been that long. I hope to one day soon get to attend Blogher again. It's been way too long since the last. I need an Elisa Camahort time! :-)

ReplyDeleteFound you on Twitter. I'm a fellow Charlotte blogger too. I was bummed that I couldn't make it to Type-A Parent Con this year, especially with it being here. Thank goodness for Twitter and hashtags. I'm still learning a lot via all the tweets despite not being there in person.
ReplyDeleteMaricris - do you sell your jewelry online? Would love to see ir. Sorry I missed the mom market!
