Motherhood is like a Chinese Dish

And so it is! What dish comes to your mind? To me, Motherhood is so much like the popular Chinese dish: Sweet and Sour. Part of it is sweet and half of it is sour! One which I recently experienced pre-Mother's day! I missed the huge Annual Mom's Nite out celebration on Thursday because I was stuck at home with daughter. Sour. Then I missed Pioneer Woman's book signing on Friday because she was running a fever. Sour-er. Un-fun.

But like Sweet and Sour, the sauce isn't complete until you add in the sweetness. Trust hubby to make it right. He brought home this little treat for me to signify that I can always enjoy a Girls Nite Out anytime even at home! Awwww...

Not my color but hey, it's the thought that counts. Sweet. Then he took me to my favorite Chinese restaurant for a family dinner and spent the rest of the day frolicking wherever my heart so desired to go! Sweet. And of course, the sweetness-e-sse-sses didn't end there...

Hubby and daughter revealed their secret mission on Mother's day.  A little flower garden. just. for. me. I can tell you that they really toiled hard putting this little surprise together for me! Dirty nails and hands proved it. Suhweeeet.

And what treat did I give myself on such a special day?

A new bible. And not just any bible. It's a BUSY MOM'S Bible! I would ask again, Do you believe in divine intervention?

I believe I was led to that bookstore. For sometime, I've been meaning to replace my King James Version - if you have this version you certainly know why - but never got around to doing it. Ironically, at that moment, THAT notion did not cross my mind as I walked inside the bookstore. My only reason for being there was because that is where hubby and daughter decided to camp out while I was window shopping next door AND I was there to get them.  As we were leaving, my eyes caught a glimpse of this book. I doubled back. I knew right there and then that I had to buy it.

You know what's weird? It was the only one in their inventory! Meaning they only ordered one piece of that book! The cover color was Hot Pink/Red. Again, not. my. color. But hey, it was meant for me. Sweet!

I had a wonderful day... Oh see my pretty shoes? Thanks to OKAb. It added glamor to my special day. I was a hot mama with a hot shoes that day! Sweet!

Remember this:  being a mother may not be all that fun at times, but like what I always say, "It is hard being us, but it is harder without us!" We are a force to be reckoned with...

To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power." - Maya Angelou

Sweet and sour anyone?

Trivia: How many times did I say Sweet?
