He started kindergarten this year and he still cannot properly wipe, part of it has to do with his reach I think. Luckily for me, he's got staying power and can hold it all day long, until I get him home and then it's straight to the bathroom. lol. I suppose I'll be doing it again with my grandchildren. I do remember telling her that she wasn't going to get to wear big girl clothes if she didn't learn to wipe on her own. She was farly young though. She could wipe by the time she was in K4. Count me in tomorrow. But I think I will never use a potty I receive a toilet seat for as a gift last year and sometimes he uses it when he needs to pee but there's one minor mistake I'm the one who's training him so also sits down heheh. I was actually so proud one time in the kindergarten that he asked to use the toilet but he has to sit down oppps. The little girl next in line asked her mother why my son has to sit like her the mother just smiled an explain he is younger and he don't know it to pee like a boy but I said to the mother lucky you!
But my son never use the toilet to make popoh because he still can not say it beforehand and when I say you need to sit in the toilet he starts to run away and I can not catch him.

But I know now that he just turns 3 we really needs to be serious about it kinda hard during winter though lots of clothes.
Some says get ready you will pick up something here and there oh no. Can I just skip the whole thing out to the next level.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3253507985718456942.post-72831241007137987192009-01-13T01:05:00.000-05:002009-01-13T01:05:00.000-05:00Yes, it's a stinky job but someone has to do it. My daughter will be 6 in 5 mths and she still belts out that same exact call, "I'M DONE!". Like I don't have enough butts to wipe already. Each for his/her own butt! But as you said, they wear you down at times and you end up doing it anyways.

My daughter is fine at school and doesn't require help, but tries to call on me all the time at home, so the majority of the time I make her do it on her own, encouraging her to confident enough to accomplish the job, and at the same time reminding her that if things aren't as clean as we'd both like, no big deal, she can always take a bath.

Good luck.Barbarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00020031746525080078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3253507985718456942.post-64341585333683899172009-01-12T15:19:00.000-05:002009-01-12T15:19:00.000-05:00My son was homeschooled so we didn't have that dea...My son was homeschooled so we didn't have that deadline..though I insisted he do it himself well before that. Part of homeschooling! We called it among other personal things to attend to: 'hygene class' Plus he liked to do things himself..I'm the 'anal' one that had to supervise to make sure it was done right.

Now I think my sister has got something here.. she just gave in to her very independant 3 year old (you know how they want to do everything themselves at that age and if you don't let them they throw tremendous fits..Koa actually started at 2! he was eating w/ a fork just over a year..did not want a spoon lol!) she just gave in and let him do it all..not caring about the mess or whatever w/ kid #2..so that kid became so self sufficient by 5 it's crazy! There were a lot of messes in the bathroom because of the whole wiping scenerio..but he's way more then got the hang of it by 5 now.Jonara Blu Mauihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09427365696018120354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3253507985718456942.post-82106813243545852952009-01-12T13:45:00.000-05:002009-01-12T13:45:00.000-05:00oh gosh... thanks for the lovely flashback! enjoy ...oh gosh... thanks for the lovely flashback! enjoy all "that"!

btw, thanks for the lovely comment on my post.
